2025 Copa América Femenina
The 2025 Copa América Femenina will be the 10th edition of the main international women's football championship in South America, the Copa América Femenina, for national teams affiliated with CONMEBOL. The competition will be held in Ecuador from 12 July to 2 August 2025. This edition celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Copa América Femenina series. Brazil are the four-time defending champions. Unlike all previous editions, the tournament won't act as South American qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup with a separate qualifying tournament being organised instead. It may however provide two slots for the 2028 Summer Olympics women's football tournament in Los Angeles and three more places for the 2027 Pan American Games tournament in Lima (in addition to Peru that qualified automatically as hosts). The 2022 Copa América Femenina was the 9th edition of the main international women's association football, women's football championship in South America, the Copa América Femenina, for national teams affiliated with CONMEBOL. The competition was held in Colombia from 8 to 30 July 2022. 1995 South American Women's Football Championship
The 1995 South American Women's Football Championship (''Campeonato Sudamericano de Fútbol Femenino 1995'') was held in Uberlândia, Brazil between 8 and 22 January. It was the second staging of the South American Women's Football Championship and determined the CONMEBOL's single qualifier for the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup. Only five national teams took part in the tournament. Brazil won the tournament, after beating Argentina 2–0 in the final. Three points for a win is a standard used in many sports leagues and tournament#Group tournaments, group tournaments, especially in association football, in which 3 points are awarded to the team winning a match, with no points awarded to the losing team. If the game is tie (draw), drawn, each team receives 1 point. Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado, commonly called ''La Casa Blanca'' ( Spanish for "The White House"), is a football stadium in Quito, Ecuador that is the home ground of LDU Quito. Built between 1995 and 1997, the stadium hosted its first match on 6 March 1997, in a game between LDU Quito and Atlético Mineiro of Belo Horizonte. At an altitude of 2,734 m and with a capacity of 41,575, it is the largest stadium in Quito, and the second largest in Ecuador after the Estadio Monumental Banco Pichincha in Guayaquil.
