2024–25 Women's Hoofdklasse Hockey
The 2024–25 Women's Hoofdklasse Hockey was the 44th season of the Women's Hoofdklasse Hockey, the top Dutch field hockey league. The season began on 14 September 2024 and concluded on 29 May 2025 with the second match of the championship final. Den Bosch were the defending champions. They defended their title by defeating SCHC 4–3 in a shoot-out after the final finished 2–2 on aggregate. It was a record-extending 23rd title for Den Bosch. Teams Twelve teams compete in the league - the top nine teams from the previous season, the winner of the 2023–24 Promotieklasse and the two winners of the 2023–24 relegation play-offs. Women's Hoofdklasse Hockey
The Women's Hoofdklasse Hockey is the women's top division of Field hockey in the Netherlands. The league ranks first in the European league ranking table. The league was established in 1981 and before the league existed the champions of the several districts played in a championship pool to determine the national champion. Den Bosch are the current champions, having won the 2024–25 season by defeating SCHC in the championship final. Den Bosch has the most titles with 23 followed by Amsterdam with 21. Format The season starts in August or September of each year and is interrupted by the indoor hockey season from November to February. From March the outdoor season will be continued. The league is played by twelve teams who play each other twice and who compete for four spots in the championship play-offs. HGC (field Hockey)
H.O.C. Gazellen-Combinatie, also known as HGC, is a Dutch professional field hockey club located in Wassenaar, South Holland on the border of The Hague. The club was founded on 22 September 1906. The first teams (men and women) competed for many years on the highest level of the Dutch field hockey league, in the "Hoofdklasse". In 1995/'96 both the men's and the women's first team won the national championship. The men's 1st XI also competed in the Euro Hockey League. HGC has produced a number of internationals for the Dutch national teams as well as attracting a number of internationals from other countries. Amsterdamse Bos
The Amsterdamse Bos ( English: ''Amsterdam Forest'') is an English park or landscape park in the municipalities of Amstelveen and Amsterdam. Although most of the park is located in Amstelveen, the owner of the park is the City of Amsterdam. The park was mainly built in the early 1930s, mostly by the unemployment relief. Because of World War II interrupting the building process, the last tree was not planted until the 1970s. Annually, almost 4.5 million people visit the park, which has a size of and is approximately three times the size of Central Park in New York City. It houses a number of animal parks, sporting clubs, rowing courses, gardens and remembrance monuments. Naarden
Naarden () is a List of cities in the Netherlands by province, city and former List of municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the Gooi region in the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of North Holland, Netherlands. Wagener Stadium
Wagener Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. It is currently used mostly for field hockey matches and hosted matches for the 1973 World Hockey Cup. The stadium holds 7,600 people. The complex has belonged to the Dutch Hockey Association (''""'') since 1980. Its location is the Amsterdamse Bos in Amstelveen. It was built by the Amsterdam Hockey & Bandy Club to honour its president, (1881–1945). The building was completed in 1938, two years before World War II came to Netherlands.
