2024–25 Washington Wizards Season
The 2024–25 Washington Wizards season was the 64th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and 51st in the Washington, D.C. area. Brian Keefe, who served as the interim head coach the previous season following the firing of Wes Unseld Jr., was hired as the fulltime coach during the offseason. Background The previous season ended on the lowest-ever note for the Washington Wizards franchise, with a 15–67 record through the regular season, including an 0–4 record in the group stage of the new 2023 NBA In-Season Tournament, and a 16-game losing streak. The only team to perform worse during that season was the Detroit Pistons, who finished with a 14–68 record, including a record-high 28-game losing streak. Brian Keefe
Brian J. Keefe (born April 7, 1976) is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach of the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early life Brian Keefe was born in Winchester, Massachusetts. As a high-school shooting guard, he was Winchester High School's all-time leading scorer, averaging 28 points a game, with his record of 1,163 points standing for 24 years before it was broken in 2018. Keefe was inducted in the Winchester Sport Foundation Hall of Fame in 2004. Keefe began his collegiate playing career at UC Irvine, where he was appointed team captain as a sophomore and named All-Big West Second Team in 1995–96 after leading the team in scoring. After transferring to UNLV for his final two seasons, Keefe helped the Running Rebels win the Western Athletic Conference Tournament and earn an NCAA berth. Kyle Alexander Kuzma (born July 24, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Richaun Diante Holmes ( ; born October 15, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
