2024–25 Texas Southern Lady Tigers Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Texas Southern Lady Tigers basketball team will represent Texas Southern University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lady Tigers, who are led by third-year head coach Vernette Skeete, will play their home games at the Health and Physical Education Arena located in Houston, Texas, as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Previous season The Lady Tigers finished the 2023–24 season 7–22, 5–12 in SWAC play, to finish in a tie for ninth place. Since only the top eight teams qualify for the SWAC tournament, the Lady Tigers failed to qualify. Preseason On September 19, 2024, the SWAC released their preseason coaches poll. Health And Physical Education Arena
Health and Physical Education Arena (H&PE Arena) is an 8,100-seat multi-purpose arena in Houston, Texas on the campus of Texas Southern University. It was designed by Houston architect Willie C. Jordan Jr. and built in 1989 and is home to the Texas Southern University Tigers basketball and volleyball teams. The arena played host to Houston Cougars men's basketball games during the 2017–18 season, as well as all Houston Cougars women's basketball home games in the same season, due to renovations of their arena, and hosted both teams for the first month of the 2018–19 season due to construction delays to the Cougars' home arena.
