2024–25 PBA Season
The 2024–25 PBA season, also referred to as PBA season 49, is the 49th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The season began on August 18, 2024 and will conclude sometime in 2025. The league reverts to a three-conference format starting with the Governors' Cup after being omitted last season. This is then followed by the Commissioner's Cup and the season-ending Philippine Cup, the latter will also coincide with the league's 50th anniversary. The first two conferences allows an import per team while the last tournament is exclusive to Filipinos. The first activity of the season was the PBA season 49 draft, held on July 14. To commemorate its golden anniversary, on April 2, 10 players were added to the Greatest Players List to form the 50 Greatest Players in PBA History. RPTV (TV Channel)
RPTV is a free-to-air television network in the Philippines. It is jointly owned and operated by TV5 Network, Inc., and Nine Media Corporation, with Radio Philippines Network (RPN) serving as its free-to-air broadcaster. RPTV was established through a content distribution, sales, and marketing agreement between TV5 (under its parent company MediaQuest Holdings) and Nine Media. Under this arrangement, TV5 provides programming and related services to Nine Media through its existing airtime lease agreement with RPN. RPTV officially launched on February 1, 2024, replacing CNN Philippines in its channel space. East Asia Super League
The East Asia Super League (EASL) is an international basketball league featuring clubs from Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei), Hong Kong, and Macau. From 2017 to 2019, four pre-season tournaments (the Super 8 and the Terrific 12) were organized by EASL, featuring clubs from selected professional basketball leagues in the region. With official backing from FIBA Asia, EASL has made a transition towards a full-fledged league. The first such season commenced in 2023 and feature eight teams. The Blackwater Bossing is a professional basketball team owned by Ever Bilena, Inc. that is playing in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) beginning in the 2014–2015 season. The franchise started as one of the founding teams in the PBA Developmental League. It transferred to the PBA after being accepted as an expansion team. LA Tenorio
Lewis Alfred Vasquez Tenorio (born July 9, 1984) is a Filipino professional basketball player and an assistant coach for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He is also the head coach of the Gilas Youth. He was an assistant coach for the Letran Knights of the Philippines' NCAA. Early life Tenorio started playing basketball when he was 6 years old. No one really saw him play or his potential, but he tried his luck to join a basketball team when he was in grade three at Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati. Tim Cone
Earl Timothy Cone (born December 14, 1957) is an American professional basketball coach who leads Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the Philippine men's national team. He is the most accomplished coach in PBA history with 25 titles including two Grand Slams, five Coach of the Year awards, and the most coaching wins with over 1,000. Hong Kong Eastern
The Eastern Sports Club (), also known as Hong Kong Eastern (), is a professional men's basketball team of the Eastern Sports Club. The team also known as (). Eastern competes in the Hong Kong A1 Division, and the ASEAN Basketball League since 2016. It has won the Hong Kong A1 championship three times, in 1956, 2017 and 2023.
