2024–25 Kaohsiung Aquas Season
The 2024–25 Kaohsiung Aquas season was the franchise's 4th season, its first season in the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL). On May 23, 2024, the Kaohsiung Aquas, Aquas announced that Brendan Joyce left the team. On July 10, the Kaohsiung Aquas, Aquas hired Mathias Fischer (basketball), Mathias Fischer as their new head coach. Mathias Fischer (basketball)
Mathias Fischer (born July 30, 1971) is a German professional basketball coach and former player. Currently, he is the head coach of Kaohsiung Aquas of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL). Coaching career Club career Fischer began his coaching career as an assistant coach with Rhöndorfer TV in 2000 before he took assistant coach positions for Brandt Hagen, BBC Amicale Steinsel and RheinEnergie Köln. Fischer took his first head coach position for the Luxembourg team Black Star Mersch in 2004. Fischer eventually moved to Worthersee Piraten, Allianz Swans Gmunden, and Giessen 46ers. Fischer was appointed head coach of Telekom Baskets Bonn on 5 June 2013. On July 10, 2024, Fischer was hired as the head coach of the Kaohsiung Aquas of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL). Xinzhuang Gymnasium (, formerly Romanization of Chinese, romanizationed as Hsinchuang) is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. It was built from September 1999 until April 2002 by RSEA Engineering Corporation. Events Xinzhuang Gymnasium has held many sporting events and concerts. Hsinchu County Stadium
The Hsinchu County Stadium (), also referred to as Zhubei Dome (), is a multi-purpose stadium in Zhubei City, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. Completed in 2005, the stadium consists of an outdoor arena used mostly for football and track and field events and outdoor concerts, and an indoor stadium for multiple sports events, exhibitions, conferences and performances. In 2006, it received the EEWH green building certification. Jason Brickman
Jason Alexander Brickman (born November 19, 1991) is a Filipino-American basketball player for the Abra Solid North Weavers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He completed his college career for the Long Island University Blackbirds after the 2013–14 season. Brickman was considered one of the best passers in the nation according to ESPN analyst Jay Bilas. Of Brickman, Bilas said "He really understands angles very well. He gets the ball to (LIU's) best players, and he does a really nice job of managing the game. An excellent passer." Brickman led NCAA Division I in assists per game as a junior with an 8.52 average, then repeated in 2013–14 with a 10.00 per game average. Kaleb Wesson
Kaleb Avery Wesson (born July 27, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for Kaohsiung Aquas of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL). He played college basketball for the Ohio State Buckeyes. High school career Wesson is the son of Keith Wesson, who played at Ohio State from 1983 to 1987. Kaleb attended Westerville South High School and played alongside older brother Andre. Kaleb became a starter as a sophomore on the state runner-up team. He had seven points and four rebounds as the Wildcats beat Lima Senior High School 57–55 to claim the state title. Wesson scored a school-record 49 points in a 68–67 loss to Upper Arlington High School on January 24, 2017. The 2024–25 New Taipei CTBC DEA season was the franchise's 4th season, its first season in the Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL). The DEA were coached by Lee Yi-Hua in his fourth year as their head coach.
