2024–25 Jamaica Premier League
The 2024–25 Jamaica Premier League was the 51st season of the top-tier football league in Jamaica. The season began on September 15, 2024 and concluded on May 23, 2025. Cavalier were the defending champions having won their third title the previous season. The season was scheduled with three rounds of preliminary games, returning to its pre-COVID structure. The return to three rounds increased the number of games each team played from 26 to 39 regular-season matches, followed by the playoffs. Cavalier were crowned champions after winning the playoff finals, becoming the first team since 2019 to win consecutive JPL titles. Teams Fourteen teams are competing in the league — the top twelve teams from the previous season and two promoted teams from the second division. The two promoted teams are Chapelton Maroons and Racing United. The Jamaica Premier League (formerly the National Premier League), commonly abbreviated as JPL and officially known as the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League for sponsorship reasons, is sanctioned by the Jamaican Football Federation as the top division for men's association football in Jamaica. Portmore, Saint Catherine
Portmore () is a large urban settlement located along the southeastern coast of Jamaica in Saint Catherine, and a dormitory community for Kingston and Spanish Town, which neighbour it. On February 11, 2025 the Jamaican House of Representatives voted that Portmore be designated the 15th parish in Jamaica. This parliamentary action was ratified in the senate on February 28, 2025. The 2022–23 Jamaica Premier League was the 49th season of the Jamaica Premier League, the top division football competition in Jamaica. The season kicked off on 23 October 2022 and ended on 11 July 2023. Harbour View were the defending champions, having won their 5th premier league title, their first since the 2012-13 season. Mount Pleasant defeated Cavalier in the playoff finals to win their first premier league title. Teams There were no relegations at the end of the 2022 season due to the expansion of the league from 12 to 14 teams for the 2022-23 season.
