2024–25 Indian Women's League
The 2024–25 Indian Women's League was the eighth season of the Indian Women's League, the top division women's professional football league in India. East Bengal won their maiden Indian Women's League title. Changes from last season Nine clubs were to compete in the 8th season, seven from the previous season and two promoted from the 2023–24 Indian Women's League 2. In October 2024, Sports Odisha withdrew, leaving the eight participating clubs in the league. Indian Women's League
The Indian Women's League (abbreviated as the IWL) is the women's top tier professional football league in India, founded in 2016. Currently, a total of 8 teams from across the country participate in the league. The competition was planned since 2014 and got established in 2016, with the first season starting from October 2016 in Cuttack, Odisha. The league was launched as India's first professional football league for women with the aim to increase the player pool for India national team. Since 2019–20, the clubs that become champions are granted an opportunity to play in the AFC Women's Club Championship, the top tier women's club football competition in Asia. Sports Odisha
Sports Odisha is an Indian institutional multisports club based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It is owned by Government of Odisha and most of the club's players are selected from the Odisha State Sports Hostel scheme, due to which the team also competes as Odisha Sports Hostel. The men's team competes in the FAO League at the state tier and in the 2023–24 season qualified for I-League 3, the fourth-tier men's professional football league in India. The women's team participated in the Indian Women's League and the Odisha Women's League at the state level. Sports Odisha have also appeared at the Futsal Club Championship. Ambedkar Stadium
Dr. Ambedkar Stadium is a football stadium in New Delhi, India. The stadium is named after Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, social reformer and architect of the Indian Constitution. It was earlier known as Corporation Stadium. It has held competitions like Delhi Football League, DCM Trophy, Subroto Cup and Durand Cup.
