2024–25 Håndboldligaen
The 2024–25 Håndboldligaen is the 89th season of the Danish Handball League, the top men's handball league in Denmark. A total of fourteen teams contested this season's league. Grindsted GIF Håndbold was promoted from the 1st Division, for the first time in club history. Aalborg Håndbold won the regular season. KIF Kolding were relegated, when they finished last in the regular season. This was their first relegation in 41 years. Aalborg Håndbold won the title when they beat Skjern Håndbold in the final 2-0 in matches. GOG Håndbold qualified for the EHF Champions League, after Aalborg Håndbold won both the regular season and the championship, as the qualification therefore went to the second placed team in the regular season. After the season Skjern Håndbold appealed GOG's qualification to the EHF Champions League, claiming that since they reached the final, they were entitled to Denmark's second spot in the tournament. Danish Men's Handball League
The Herreligaen (men's league), formerly known as Herrehåndboldligaen (men's handball league), is the men's top Danish professional handball league. The winners of the Herreligaen are recognised as the Danish men's handball champions. The current champions are Aalborg Håndbold. Season The Herreligaen season consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. The eight best teams of the regular season advance to further games, where they are divided into two groups of four teams each. No. 1 and 2 from the regular season start with 2 points. No. 3 and 4 start with 1 point, while no. 5-8 start with no points. After these six games the two top teams in each group will play semifinals. No. 1 from one group is up against no. 2 from the other. The winners will meet in finals, while the losers will play against each other for the bronze medal. Fredericia HK
Fredericia HK is a team handball, handball club from Fredericia, Denmark. Currently, Fredericia HK competes in the men's Danish Handball League. The home arena of the team is Fredericia Idrætscenter, thansen.dk Arena. The club was founded in 1990 on the license of former 5 time Denmark, Danish champions Fredericia KFUM. They are currently competing in the 2024–25 EHF Champions League season. History Fredericia KFUM During the 1970's Fredericia KFUM, one of the two progenitors to Fredericia HK was one of the best clubs in the country and contributed many players to the Denmark men's national handball team, Danish men's national team, including Jørgen Heidemann, Flemming Ladefoged Hansen, Søren Andersen (handballer), Søren Andersen, Anders Dahl-Nielsen and Bjarne Jeppesen.
