The 2024–25 Handball-Bundesliga was the 60th season of the Handball-Bundesliga, Germany's premier handball league and the 47th season consisting of only one league. It ran from 5 September 2024 to 8 June 2025. The naming rights moved from Liqui Moly to Daikin. The Handball-Bundesliga (HBL) is the top German professional handball league. From 2007 to 2012, the league was sponsored by Toyota and was officially called the ''Toyota Handball-Bundesliga''. HC Erlangen
HC Erlangen is a handball club from Erlangen, Germany. They currently compete in the Handball-Bundesliga. History HC Erlangen was made as a merger between HG Erlangen and CSG Erlangen. In the 2000/2001 season, both HG Erlangen and CSG Erlangen played in the 2. Handball-Bundesliga, but CSG Erlangen had to drop out due to a licensing problem, so the club decided to merge with its neighbor, HG Erlangen. The new club was formed and was named HC Erlangen. HBW Balingen-Weilstetten is a handball club from the city of Balingen, Germany, though they occasionally play in Stuttgart. The team currently plays in the Handball-Bundesliga, Germany's highest handball division. History The club was established from the merger in 2002 of the handball sections of TSG Balingen and TV Weilstetten. This merger was quickly beneficial as HBW Balingen-Weilstetten finished first in the regional championship (Regionalliga) and were promoted to 2. Handball-Bundesliga. HSG Wetzlar is a professional handball club from Wetzlar, Germany. It competes in the top-tier Handball-Bundesliga and in the DHB-Pokal, German Handball Cup. They have played in the Bundesliga since 1998 without relegation. SC DHfK Leipzig Handball is a German handball team from Leipzig, Germany, that plays in the Handball-Bundesliga. It was one of the strongest GDR clubs in late 1950s and 1960s. History The SC DHfK Leipzig was founded in 1954 as a sports club of the ''Deutsche Hochschule für Körperkultur'' (German University for Physical Culture).
