2024–25 Georgia Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Georgia Bulldogs basketball team represented the University of Georgia during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by third-year head coach Mike White, played their home games at the Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia, as members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 8–10 in SEC play to finish in a tie for eighth place. They lost in the first round of the SEC tournament to Oklahoma. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, their first appearance in 10 years. Seeded No. 9 in the Midwest region, they lost to Gonzaga in the first round. The Bulldogs were ranked No. 23 in the AP and Coaches poll released on January 13, the first time a Georgia team had been ranked since January of 2011. Mike White (basketball)
Michael Emerson White (born March 2, 1977) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He is the head coach of the University of Georgia men's basketball team. Prior to accepting the job at Georgia, White was the head coach of the Florida Gators from 2015 to 2022 and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs from 2011 to 2015. Playing career White played at Ole Miss from 1995 to 1999. In 1995, White began his four-year collegiate career as a freshman guard for the Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team. He became a starter in the eighth game of his freshman year and remained a starter for the remainder of his four years at Ole Miss. During White's college career, he had 370 assists, the 6th highest total in Ole Miss history. The Providence Friars men's basketball team represents Providence College in NCAA Division I competition. South Orange is a historic suburban Village (New Jersey), village located in Essex County, New Jersey. It was formally known as the Township of South Orange Village from October 1978 until April 25, 2024. Jabri Shareef Abdur-Rahim (born March 22, 2002) is an American college basketball player currently in the transfer portal. He previously played for the Providence Friars, the Virginia Cavaliers, and the Georgia Bulldogs. High school career Abdur-Rahim was raised in the Short Hills section of Millburn, New Jersey. In his freshman season at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, New Jersey, Abdur-Rahim averaged 11.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game and was named NJ.com Rookie of the Year. As a sophomore, he averaged 17.7 points and 9.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, leading his team to a 24–3 record and earning All-State Third Team honors. The 2024 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams not selected to participate in the 2024 NCAA tournament. The tournament began on March 19 and ended on April 4. The first three rounds were played on campuses, with the semifinal and championship final played at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
