2024–25 Gamma Ethniki
The 2024–25 Gamma Ethniki was the 43rd season since the official establishment of the championship in 1982 and the 3rd tier of Greek football after the restructuring of 2021. It has an amateur character, while the Hellenic Football Federation (HFF) is responsible for the conduct of the championship. The competition started in September 2024, and was concluded on 4 May 2025, and was conducted in four groups, the same as the previous 2023–24 season. 69 teams were participating and 25 of them were relegated at the end of the season. The groups were formed according to geographical criteria. For the 2024-2025 competition season, the deadline for submitting the Declarations of Participation was 19 July 2024 for the teams with the right to participate and until 29 July 2024 for the teams invited to fill the gaps, created from the teams that, even though they had earned the right to participate, had chosen to withdraw. Gamma Ethniki
The Gamma Ethniki (, C National Division) is the Greek football league system, third highest football league in Greece. History The Gamma Ethniki began in 1965 as an amateur championship, while in 1983 it was changed to professional. Although not literally national (it is divided into ''North'' and ''South'' groups), Football League 2 is considered as a national division. On 3 August 2010, it was announced that the division had been renamed ''Football League 2''. From season 2013–14, the football League 2 was merged with the Delta Ethniki, fourth division championship (Delta Ethniki) and renamed Gamma Ethniki once more. The Super League Greece 2 () is the second division of professional Association football, football in Greece, serving as a feeder league to the top level Super League Greece, Super League 1. Aiolikos Football Club () is a Greek professional association football club, based in Mytilene. History The club was established in 1975 after a merger of two local teams – Atlantas and Apollon. The name Aiolikos was inspired by the Aeolians, the name by which the Greek inhabitants of Lesbos and nearby Aeolis, Anatolia, have been known since antiquity. Incidentally, there was also a Greek football club called Aiolikos that was based in Smyrna (İzmir), around 1890, which would often play matches against teams of visiting British sailors.
