2024–25 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup
The 2024–25 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, organised by the International Ski Federation (FIS), was the 59th World Cup season for men and women as the highest level of international alpine skiing competitions. The season started on 26 October 2024 in Sölden, Austria, and concluded on 27 March 2025 at the finals in Sun Valley, United States. The season took a break in February for the World Championships in Saalbach, Austria. Marco Odermatt and Lara Gut-Behrami, both from Switzerland, were the reigning champions from the previous season. Odermatt successfully defended his title, claiming the crystal globe for the 4th consecutive time. Gut-Behrami finished the season in 2nd place, as Federica Brignone from Italy secured the women's overall title for the 2nd time in her career. Marco Odermatt (born 8 October 1997) is a Swiss World Cup alpine ski racer who races in giant slalom, super-G and downhill. He is considered the most complete alpine ski racer of his generation. In addition to the World Cup, Odermatt has competed for Switzerland at two Junior World Championships, three World Championships, and the 2022 Winter Olympics. Lara Colturi (born 15 November 2006) is an Italian naturalized Albanian World Cup alpine ski racer who specializes in technical and speed events. She won the 2022 FIS Alpine Ski South American Cup. Biography Lara Colturi is the daughter of former Olympic champion Daniela Ceccarelli and ski coach Alessandro Colturi. She was born in Turin and grew up in Cesana Torinese in the Susa Valley. The International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine World Cup tour is the premier circuit for alpine skiing competition. The men's slalom in the 2022–23 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, 2023 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup consisted of ten events, including the discipline final. Marcel Hirscher (born 2 March 1989) is an Austrian-Dutch FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, World Cup Alpine skiing, alpine ski racer. Hirscher made his World Cup debut in March 2007. He competed primarily in slalom and giant slalom, as well as combined and occasionally in super G.
