2024–25 Eredivisie
The 2024–25 Eredivisie was the 69th season of Eredivisie, the premier football competition in the Netherlands. It began on 9 August 2024 and concluded on 1 June 2025. PSV Eindhoven, who entered the last 5 weeks of the season 9 points behind AFC Ajax, Ajax, entered the last week ahead thanks to Ajax's point losses and defeated Sparta Rotterdam, Sparta 3-1 in the last match of the league on May 18, 2025 and completed the league as champion for the 26th time. Changes This will be the last season with artificial turf being legal. Since this season there are no clubs anymore that play on artificial turf, all clubs play on lawn, natural grass or hybrid grass. As per next season, natural/ hybrid grass on the home ground stadium pitch, is obliged in the Eredivisie. The Eredivisie (; "Honour Division" or "Premier Division") is a professional association football league in the Netherlands and the highest level of the Dutch football league system. The league was founded in 1956, two years after the start of professional football in the Netherlands. Fortuna Sittard
Fortuna Sittard (; ) is a professional football club from the municipality of Sittard-Geleen, Netherlands. The club currently plays its football in the 12,500 capacity Fortuna Sittard Stadion and features in the Eredivisie. The club was established through a merger of former clubs Fortuna 54 and Sittardia, which merged as the Fortuna Sittardia Combinatie on 1 July 1968. Hybrid Grass
Hybrid grass or reinforced natural grass is a product created by combining natural lawn grass with reinforcing synthetic fibres. It is used for stadiums and training pitches used for association football, rugby, gridiron football and cricket. Reinforced natural grass can also be used for events and concerts. Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass, used in sports arenas, residential lawns and commercial applications that traditionally use grass.
