2024–25 Egyptian Premier League
The 2024–25 Egyptian Premier League season is the 66th edition of the Egyptian Premier League, the top professional league for association football clubs in the Egyptian football league system, since its establishment in 1948. Fixtures for the 2024–25 season were announced on 19 October 2024. Al Ahly are the defending champions. The season started on 30 October 2024, and is scheduled to conclude on 31 May 2025. Format Unlike previous editions of the league, the 2024–25 season follows a format similar to the one used in the Belgian Pro League and in the 2023–24 season of the Egyptian Second Division A. This change, which reduces the total number of matches each team plays from 34 to just 25, was made to ensure that the league concludes by May or June 2025, addressing the issues the league faced regarding scheduling conflicts and postponed fixtures that, since 2020, caused each season to end on a different date. Egyptian Premier League
The Egyptian Premier League (), also known as the Nile League () for sponsorship reasons, after the addition of title sponsor Nile Developments, is a professional association football league in Egypt and the highest level of the Egyptian football league system. The league comprises 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Egyptian Second Division A. Seasons mostly run from August to May. Unlike most other leagues, games are played on all days of the week. The Egyptian Premier League was founded in 1948, unifying the local leagues that existed previously. 2023–24 Egyptian Second Division A
The 2023–24 Egyptian Second Division A season was the inaugural edition of the Egyptian Second Division A, the new second-highest level in the Egyptian football league system. It succeeded the old Egyptian Second Division, which was abolished and replaced with the new Second Division A and Second Division B as the new second and third-tier leagues, respectively, with the latter retaining the format used by the abolished league. Fixtures for the 2023–24 season were announced on 22 August 2023. The season started on 24 September 2023, and concluded on 26 June 2024.
