The 2024–25 Boston Celtics season was the franchise's 79th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Joe Mazzulla
Joseph Mazzulla (born June 30, 1988) is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nicknamed "the Psycho", he played college basketball for West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball, West Virginia University as a point guard. Following his collegiate career as a point guard, Mazzulla went undrafted in the 2011 NBA draft, instead choosing to pursue a career in coaching at the college level, coaching at Glenville State University, Glenville State and Fairmont State University, Fairmont State's basketball programs as an assistant coach for 3 seasons each, before being hired to be an assistant coach for the Maine Red Claws in 2016. 1987 NBA Finals
The 1987 NBA Finals was the championship series of the National Basketball Association's (NBA) 1986–87 season, and the culmination of the season's playoffs. The Western Conference champion Los Angeles Lakers defeated the defending NBA champion and Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics 4 games to 2. Anton Michael Watson (born October 6, 2000) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G League. Baylor Arthur Scheierman (born September 26, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits and the Creighton Bluejays. The 2020–21 Boston Celtics season was the Celtics' 75th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA). As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the regular season for the league began on December 22, 2020, and featured a 72-game schedule rather than the typical 82-game schedule. The Celtics finished the regular season with a 36–36 record, and clinched a playoff spot after defeating the Washington Wizards with a score of 118–100 in the play-in tournament. In the opening round of the playoffs, the Celtics were defeated by the Brooklyn Nets in five games, marking the first time the Celtics were eliminated in the first round since 2016. The 2024–25 Brooklyn Nets season was the 49th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA), 58th season overall, and its 13th season playing in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
