2024–25 Biathlon World Cup
The 2024–25 Biathlon World Cup ''(official: BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon)'', organised by the International Biathlon Union (IBU), was the 48th official Biathlon World Cup, World Cup season for men and 43rd edition for women as the highest level of international biathlon competitions. The season started on 30 November 2024 in Kontiolahti, Finland and concluded on 23 March 2025 in Oslo, Oslo Holmenkollen, Norway. A major highlight of the season was the Biathlon World Championships 2025, 2025 Biathlon World Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, whose results were not included in the World Cup standings (except for the national standings). Johannes Thingnes Bø from Norway and Lisa Vittozzi from Italy were the reigning champions from the previous season. Hochfilzen is a town and municipality in the Kitzbühel (district), Kitzbühel district of the Austrian state of Tyrol (state), Tyrol. It is located in the Pillersee valley 5 km east of Fieberbrunn. Tomasz Sikora (born 21 December 1973) is a former Poland, Polish biathlon, biathlete. Life and career Sikora was born in Wodzisław Śląski. In 1993, he finished second in 10 km sprint at the Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding. He was world champion in 1995 (20 km), runner-up in the world championships in 2004 (also 20 km) and bronze medalist in 1997 (team competition). On 25 February 2006 he was placed second in the 15 km mass start at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, winning the second and final medal for Poland in those Olympic Games, Olympics. Ole Einar Bjørndalen
Ole Einar Bjørndalen (; born 27 January 1974) is a retired Norwegian professional biathlete and coach, often referred to by the nickname, the "King of Biathlon". With 13 Winter Olympic Games medals, he is second on the list of multiple medalists behind Marit Bjørgen who has won 15 medals. He is also the most successful biathlete of all time at the Biathlon World Championships, having won 45 medals. Jakov Fak
Jakov Fak (born 1 August 1987) is a Slovenian Biathlon, biathlete of Croats, Croat origin competing for Slovenia since 2010. As a member of the Croatian biathlon team, Fak won bronze medals at the Biathlon World Championships 2009, 2009 World Championships and at the 2010 Winter Olympics, where he was also the Croatian flag bearer at the opening ceremony. In 2010, Fak switched his citizenship and started competing for Slovenia. The Pokljuka Plateau () is a forested karst plateau at an elevation of around , located in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. The plateau is known for its forests, pasture, mountain pastures (Javornik, Lipanca, Uskovnica, Zajamniki, etc.), and winter sports facilities. Oberhof is a town in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen Districts of Germany, district of Thuringia, Germany. Selina Grotian
Selina Grotian (born 25 March 2004) is a German biathlete. She won multiple gold medals at youth and junior world championships in 2022 and 2023, respectively. In the 2023 European Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, she won the gold medal in the pursuit race. Career Selina Grotian started her cross-country skiing at the age of six, and biathlon at the age of nine following in her two older brothers footsteps.
