2024–25 Biathlon IBU Cup
The 2024–25 Biathlon IBU Cup, organised by the International Biathlon Union (IBU), was the 17th official IBU Cup season for men and women as the second level of international biathlon competitions. The season started on 28 November 2024 in Idre, Idre Fjäll, Sweden and concluded on 15 March 2025 in Otepää, Estonia. A major highlight of the season was the 2025 IBU Open European Championships held in Martell, South Tyrol, Martell-Val Martello, Italy, which results also counted toward the IBU Cup rankings. Mats Øverby from Norway (men's) and Océane Michelon from France (women's) were the reigning champions from the previous season. Isak Frey from Norway and Camille Bened from France became the new overall champions. Their victories earned the Norwegian and French national teams the right to field an additional athlete in the World Cup events in Östersund and Hochfilzen during the 2025–26 Biathlon World Cup, 2025–26 season. Martell, South Tyrol
Martell (; ) is a valley and ''comune'' (municipality) in South Tyrol in northern Italy. It is located in the Martell Valley of the long river Plima, about west of Bolzano. The commune reaches from an elevation of up to the of the Zufallspitze (Italian: Monte Cevedale) which towers over the southeastern end of the valley. It is the only comune in Italy without any native speakers of Italian. Sjusjøen
Sjusjøen is a cross country skiing destination in the municipality of Ringsaker in Innlandet county, Norway. Situated on the mountain plateau south of Sjusjøen is Hedmarksvidda. The area is located with forest and mountain terrain about above sea level. This area is located about east of the town of Lillehammer. The area is the site of many holiday cottages, a hotel, and a youth hostel for accommodation. Geilo () is a centre in the municipality of Hol, Norway, Hol in Buskerud, Buskerud county, Norway. Geilo is primarily a ski resort town, with around 2,500 inhabitants. The 2025–26 Biathlon World Cup ''(official: BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon)'', organised by the International Biathlon Union (IBU), will be the 49th official Biathlon World Cup, World Cup season for men and 44th edition for women as the highest level of international biathlon competitions. The season is set to start on 29 November 2025 in Östersund, Sweden and will end on 22 March 2026 in Oslo, Oslo Holmenkollen, Norway. A major highlight of the season will be the 2026 Winter Olympics, held in Milan–Cortina d'Ampezzo, Cortina, Italy, from 8 to 21 February, with the biathlon events taking place in Rasen-Antholz, Antholz-Anterselva.
