2024–25 BBL-Pokal
The 2024–25 BBL-Pokal was the 58th season of the BBL-Pokal, the domestic cup competition of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL, running from 14 September 2024 to 16 February 2025. Mitteldeutscher BC defeated Bamberg Baskets in the final to win their first title. Format The top eight teams of the 2023–24 Basketball Bundesliga received a bye and move on to the round of 16. The teams that placed ninth to 16th were seeded and the two relegated teams, together with the top six-placed teams from the ProA from the previous season, were unseeded for the draw. The team from the unseeded group had home-advantage. After that an open draw was used for the other rounds. Mitteldeutscher Basketball Club (), for sponsorship reasons named SYNTAINICS MBC, and commonly known as simply MBC, is a professional basketball club based in Weißenfels, Germany. The club currently plays in the Basketball Bundesliga, the first tier league in Germany. MBC has won the BBL-Pokal in 2025, its first national trophy, as well as the FIBA EuroCup Challenge in 2004. History The club was founded as ''SSV Einheit Weißenfels'' in 1958 and has played in the Basketball Bundesliga since the 1999–2000 season. In 2003-04, Mitteldeutscher won the FIBA EuroCup Challenge, defeating JDA Dijon Basket in the Final. Rostock Seawolves
Rostock Seawolves is a professional basketball club based in Rostock, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The club currently competes in the Basketball Bundesliga. The Seawolves play their home games in the Rostocker Stadthalle. Within the New states of Germany, the Rostock Seawolves have more active members than any other basketball club. Crailsheim Merlins, currently referred to as Hakro Merlins Crailsheim for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Crailsheim, Germany. Established in 1986, the club plays in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), the highest professional league in Germany. The club is a part of the multi-sports club TSV Crailsheim. Home games are played in the Arena Hohenlohe, which has a capacity of 3,000 people. History The club was founded on 31 January 1986 by a group of students. Until 1994, the team was only active at the lower local leagues and had problems in finding a hall to play at. A year later, the club found a new home in the barracks of departed American armed forces. Eli Brooks
Eli James Brooks (born October 14, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for EWE Baskets Oldenburg of the Basketball Bundesliga. He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines men's basketball, Michigan Wolverines. High school career Brooks attended Spring Grove Area High School in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, where he was coached by his father. He played AAU Basketball for the Jersey Shore Warriors. Brooks averaged 20.1 points per game as a sophomore and led YAIAA guards in rebounding. He averaged 24.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 2.3 assists per game as a junior, leading Spring Grove to its first state tournament appearance in school history. As a senior, Brooks averaged 29.7 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists per game. He led the Rockets to a 22–9 record, helping the team to a quarterfinal berth in the PIAA Class 5-A playoffs.
