2024–25 Austrian Football Second League
The 2024–25 Austrian Football Second League, also known as the Admiral 2nd League for sponsorship purposes, is the 51st season of the Austrian second-level football league and the seventh as the Second League. The league consists of 16 teams. Teams Sixteen teams are participating in the 2024–25 season. Despite a fourth-place finish in the 2023-24 Austrian Football Second League, DSV Leoben was not granted admission to the 2nd division in the first and second instance. The club then appealed to the league's permanent neutral arbitration tribunal, where it also failed. As no other club from the Regionalliga West that had applied for a second division license was granted, Ertl Glass Amstetten remained in the league and the number of relegated teams was reduced to two. Mohren Dornbirn also failed to gain admission to the 2nd division and was relegated together with Leoben. Austrian Football Second League
The Second League (), commonly known as Admiral 2. Liga for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest professional division in Austrian football. The division currently contains 16 teams, and the champion of the league is promoted to the Austrian Bundesliga if it is not a reserve team. The two last-placed teams are directly relegated from the Second League into the regional leagues. Teams Starting in the 2018–19 season, the former First League changed its name to the Second League and expanded from ten teams to 16 teams. Sixteen teams will participate in the 2025–26 season. One Team relegated from Bundesliga and Three teams promoted from Regionalliga. Austria Klagenfurt were relegated from the 2024–25 Austrian Football Bundesliga. Fußballclub Dornbirn 1913, commonly known as FC Mohren Dornbirn 1913 for sponsorship reasons is a professional association football club based in the town of Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria, that competes in the Austrian Regionalliga West, one of the third tiers of the Austrian football league system. Amstetten () is a city in Lower Austria. It is the capital of the Amstetten (district), Amstetten District and the centre of the historical region Mostviertel (“Most” – lightly fermented apple juice, “viertel” – a region of the province Lower Austria). First Vienna FC is an Austrian football club based in the Döbling district of Vienna. Established on 22 August 1894, it is the country's oldest team and has played a notable role in the history of the game there.
