2024–25 Accrington Stanley F.C. Season
The 2024–25 season was the 56th season in the history of Accrington Stanley F.C., Accrington Stanley Football Club and their second consecutive season in EFL League Two, League Two. In addition to the 2024–25 EFL League Two, domestic league, the club also participated in the 2024–25 FA Cup, FA Cup, the 2024–25 EFL Cup, EFL Cup, and the 2024–25 EFL Trophy. Accrington secured their stay in League Two with a win at Walsall F.C., Walsall in the penultimate round of the season. This followed a fightback from being bottom of the league with no wins in the first eight games. The team also won more games on the road than at home, although more points were collected on home turf due to many drawn games. Notably, the season also featured Accrington playing Premier League leaders Liverpool F.C., Liverpool at Anfield in front of 60,261 spectators in the FA Cup third round, with Liverpool winning 4–0. Accrington is a town in the Hyndburn borough of Lancashire, England. It lies about east of Blackburn, west of Burnley, east of Preston, north of Manchester and is situated on the culverted River Hyndburn. Commonly abbreviated by locals to "Accy", the town has a population of 35,456 according to the 2011 census. Accrington is the largest settlement and the seat of the Hyndburn borough council. Accrington is a former centre of the cotton and textile machinery industries.
