2024 Wimbledon Championships – Women's Singles
Barbora Krejčíková defeated Jasmine Paolini in the final, 6–2, 2–6, 6–4 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. It was her first Wimbledon singles title and second major singles title overall. Markéta Vondroušová was the defending champion, but lost in the first round to Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro. This marked only the second time in the Open Era that the defending champion lost in the first round, after Steffi Graf lost to Lori McNeil in 1994. Paolini was the first Italian woman in the Open Era to reach the Wimbledon semifinals and final. She became the first woman to reach back-to-back French Open and Wimbledon finals since Serena Williams in 2016, and the first Italian woman in the Open Era to reach the final of two different majors.
