The 2024 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup was the eighteenth season of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the twelfth year contested by the riders on equal KTM 250cc 4-stroke Moto3 bikes, was held over 14 races in seven meetings on the Grand Prix motorcycle racing calendar, beginning at Circuito de Jerez, Jerez de la Frontera on 27 April and ending on 8 September at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Misano Adriatico. Álvaro Carpe emerged as the champion, securing the title with a second-place finish in the second race at Misano. Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup
The Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup is a motorcycle racing series contested by young, up-and-coming motorcycle riders, who have not had experience in a Motorcycle Grand Prix, motorcycle grand prix previously. The class was founded in 2007, and since then a number of the rookies have progressed through to the 125cc/Moto3 championship in MotoGP. Prior to the 2013 season, a 2-stroke KTM RC 125cc engine was used. The year 2013 saw a change of machinery to the 4-stroke KTM RC250RBR, following the introduction of the four-stroke Moto3 class. The Rookies Cup staff include Rider Coaches August Auinger, August "Gustl" Auinger and Dani Ribalta with Peter Clifford being the Director of Rider Development and Media. The Spaniard José Antonio Rueda was the first racer to win the Cup title and his first World Championship title in the same year (2022). Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto (formerly known as Circuito de Jerez and Circuito de Velocidad Jerez), is a racing circuit located close to the city of Jerez de la Frontera, south of Seville and deep within the sherry-producing region in the south of Spain. The Misano World Circuit (officially known as Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli or Misano Circuit Sic 58, and before 2006 called Circuito Internazionale Santa Monica Misano) is a race track located next to the town of Misano Adriatico ( Province of Rimini) in the frazione of Santa Monica-Cella. Originally designed in 1969 as a length of , it hosted its first event in 1972. In 1993, the track length was increased to . Álvaro Carpe
Álvaro Carpe (born 5 June 2007) is a Spanish motorcycle racer who competes for Red Bull KTM Ajo in the Moto3 World Championship. He won the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and JuniorGP World Championship, both in 2024. Career Early career Carpe made his JuniorGP debut in 2022 with the STV-MT Helmets-MSI team on a KTM bike. Due to his underage status, he was unable to compete in the first three races of the championship. He finished 31st without scoring any points. By 2023, Carpe had become one of the top JuniorGP riders. Carpe competed for the Laglisse Academy team, achieving four podium finishes and finishing third in the championship behind Ángel Piqueras and Luca Lunetta. He also made his Red Bull Rookies Cup debut that same year, finishing runner-up with two wins behind Piqueras.
