2024 PSC Women In Sports Awards
The 2024 PSC–PSA Women in Sports Awards was an annual awarding ceremony honoring the individuals and teams for their contribution in women's sports in the Philippines. It was organized by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) in coordination with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW). This is the first edition of the PSC Women in Sports Awards. Rizal Memorial Coliseum
The Rizal Memorial Coliseum is an indoor arena in the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila, Philippines. It can hold up to 6,100 people. History The Rizal Memorial Coliseum within the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex was built on the former site of Manila Carnival Grounds in 1934 as a tennis stadium named "Rizal Memorial Tennis Stadium", but was later renamed “Rizal Memorial Coliseum” at an unknown time. It became a primary venue for the UAAP and the NCAA, before moving to much-larger venues such as the Araneta Coliseum. It was one of the buildings that were destroyed during the Battle of Manila (1945), Battle of Manila of World War II in 1945 and was reconstructed in 1953 for the 1954 Asian Games. Rubilen "Bingkay" Amit (born October 3, 1981) is a Filipino female professional pool player from Mandaue, Cebu. Amit is a two-time WPA Women's World Ten-ball champion and the first Filipina pool player to become WPA Women's World Nine-ball champion in 2024. She is also the second Filipino player behind Carlo Biado to win both ten-ball and nine-ball championships. Biography Rubilen Amit was born in Mandaue, Cebu. Margielyn Arda Didal (born April 19, 1999) is a Filipino professional street skateboarder who rose to fame when she competed in the X Games Minneapolis 2018 and won a gold medal in the 2018 Asian Games. Alyssa Caymo Valdez (; born June 29, 1993) is a Filipino volleyball player who currently plays for the Creamline Cool Smashers. She was a member of the collegiate varsity women's volleyball team of Ateneo de Manila University in both indoor and beach volleyball. Beatriz Lucero-Lhuillier, born Beatriz Lucero and more popularly known as Bea Lucero, is a Filipino former athlete and Olympian. She won a bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics in taekwondo, a demonstration sports at the Games. Lucero graduated from International School Manila in 1991.
