2024 NCAA Division III Football Season
The 2024 NCAA Division III football season was the component of the 2024 college football season organized by the NCAA at the Division III level in the United States. The regular season began on September 1 and ended on November 16. This was the 51st season that the NCAA has sponsored a Division III championship. Cortland is the defending national champion. The playoffs were expanded from 32 from last season to 40 teams. The season's playoffs was played between November 23 and January 5, 2025, culminating in the national championship—also known as the Stagg Bowl. The game was initially set for Turner Stadium in Humble, Texas, but was later moved to Shell Energy Stadium in Houston. 2024 North Central Cardinals Football Team
The 2024 North Central Cardinals football team was an American football team that represented North Central College of Naperville, Illinois, as a member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) during the 2024 NCAA Division III football season. In their second year under head coach Brad Spencer, the Cardinals compiled a 15–0 record (9–0 in conference games), won the CCIW championship, and were ranked No. 1 in Division III at the end of the regular season. The team advanced to the Division III playoffs where they defeated in the second round, in the third round, and in the national quarterfinal. Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) is an intercollegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division III. Member institutions are located in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. Founded as the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference (ICAC) in 1987, it reincorporated under its current name in 1998 with the addition of several schools from Ohio. The Defiance College is a private college located in Defiance, Ohio, United States. The Sul Ross State University Lobos are the athletic teams of Sul Ross State University, a public university in Alpine, Texas. Texas Lutheran University (TLU) is a private Evangelical Lutheran university in Seguin, Texas. History The university traces its roots back to 1891 with the foundation of an academy, named Evangelical Lutheran College, by the first German Evangelical Lutheran Synod in Texas, in Brenham. Its first president was the Reverend Gottlieb Langner. That school accumulated crushing financial problems, but in 1912, it was rescued by an offer of 15 acres and $20,000 from local businessmen to relocate the academy to Seguin.
