2024 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2024 Atlantic 10 women's basketball tournament was the postseason women's basketball tournament for the 2023–24 season of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10). It was held from March 6-10, 2024, in Henrico, Virginia, at Henrico Sports & Events Center. It was the 48th annual edition of the tournament. Seeds 14 A-10 schools will participate in the tournament. Teams will be seeded by winning percentage within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical percentages. The top 10 teams will receive a first-round bye and the top four teams will receive a double-bye, automatically advancing them to the quarterfinals. The Henrico Sports & Events Center is an indoor arena in Henrico, Virginia. The center court has a seating capacity of 3,500 for sporting events. 2023–24 Richmond Spiders Women's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Richmond Spiders women's basketball team represented the University of Richmond during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Spiders, led by fifth-year head coach Aaron Roussell, played their home games at the Robins Center and were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Richmond went undefeated at home en route to the Atlantic 10 regular-season conference and A-10 Tournament titles. Aaron Roussell
Aaron Roussell is an American college basketball coach, currently the women's head coach at the University of Richmond. Roussell is a 2001 graduate of the University of Iowa and he began his college coaching career as a graduate assistant at Minnesota State Mavericks, Minnesota State. After two seasons there, Roussell spent eight years as head women's basketball coach at the Chicago Maroons women's basketball, University of Chicago. Roussell then spent seven seasons as head coach at Bucknell Bison women's basketball, Bucknell University before being named head coach at Richmond on April 2, 2019. The Atlantic 10 women's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in women's basketball for the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10). It is a single-elimination tournament involving all 15 league schools, and seeding is based on regular-season records with head-to-head match-up as a tie-breaker. The winner receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA women's basketball tournament. The top nine teams in the conference receive byes in the first round, while #12 plays #13, #11 plays #14, and #10 plays #15. The Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference whose schools compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) NCAA Division I, Division I.
