The 2023–24 Tampa Bay Lightning season was the List of Tampa Bay Lightning seasons, 32nd season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on December 16, 1991. On April 5, 2024, the Lightning clinched a playoff spot for the seventh consecutive season after losses by the 2023–24 Detroit Red Wings season, Detroit Red Wings, 2023–24 Philadelphia Flyers season, Philadelphia Flyers and 2023–24 Washington Capitals season, Washington Capitals. The Atlantic Division is a name used by the National Hockey League to describe a division of teams in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. The original Atlantic Division, the predecessor of which was the Patrick Division, was formed in 1993 as part of the Eastern Conference in a league realignment. As part of a 2013 realignment, the entirety of the former Atlantic Division was realigned into the Metropolitan Division. 2023–24 Detroit Red Wings Season
The 2023–24 Detroit Red Wings season was the 98th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on September 25, 1926. It was the Red Wings' seventh season at Little Caesars Arena. This was the Red Wings' second season under head coach Derek Lalonde. The Red Wings played two games on November 16 and 17 in Stockholm at the Avicii Arena as part of the NHL Global Series. The Red Wings were eliminated from playoff contention for the eighth consecutive season via tiebreaker on April 16, 2024, after the Washington Capitals' 2–1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Lady Byng Memorial Trophy
The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, formerly known as the Lady Byng Trophy, is presented each year to the National Hockey League "player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability." The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy has been awarded 90 times to 53 different players since it was first awarded in 1925. The original trophy was donated to the league by Lady Byng of Vimy, then–viceregal consort of Canada. Hockey Club SKA (), often referred to as SKA Saint Petersburg and literally as the Sports Club of the Army, is a professional ice hockey club based in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
