2023–24 Slovak First Football League
The 2023–24 Slovak First Football League (known as Niké liga for sponsorship reasons) is the 31st season of first-tier football league in Slovakia since its establishment in 1993. The winners (ŠK Slovan Bratislava, Slovan Bratislava) qualified for the 2024–25 UEFA Champions League#First qualifying round, 2024–25 UEFA Champions League first qualifying round. The 2023–24 Slovak Cup winners (MFK Ružomberok, Ružomberok) qualified for the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League#First qualifying round, 2024–25 UEFA Europa League first qualifying round. The Slovak First Football League (), officially known as Niké liga for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Slovakia and the highest level of the Football in Slovakia, Slovak football league system. It was formed in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. The record for most titles is fifteen, held by ŠK Slovan Bratislava, Slovan Bratislava, who are the current title holders. History The current independent top football division in Slovakia was formed in 1993 as a result of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. The predecessors of the current top football division in Slovakia were Zväzové Majstrovstvá Slovenska (1925–1933) and Slovenská liga (1938–1944). Košická Futbalová Aréna
Košická futbalová aréna (KFA) is a football stadium in Košice, Slovakia. It is the home ground of a local club FC Košice and has an all-seated capacity of 12,555. History The stadium replaced old stadium Všešportový areál, which was demolished in 2011. The construction is divided into three phases. First phase was started in 2018 and finished in 2021 with two stands and capacity 5,836 seats. The second and third phases, with another two stands, aimed to be finished in 2022 and would bring the total capacity of the ground to 12,658 and help it achieve UEFA's 4 stars standard. The Národný atletický štadión (National athletics stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. UEFA stadium categories are categories for association football, football stadiums laid out in UEFA's Stadium Infrastructure Regulations. Using these regulations, stadiums are rated as category one, two, three, or four (renamed from elite) in ascending ranking order. AS Trenčín () is a Slovak sports club in the town of Trenčín, most known for its football department. The 2016–17 Slovak First Football League (known as the Slovak Fortuna Liga for sponsorship reasons) was the 24th season of first-tier football league in Slovakia, since its establishment in 1993. MFK Tatran Liptovský Mikuláš
Tatran Liptovský Mikuláš is a Slovak football club, playing in the town of Liptovský Mikuláš. History The club was formed on 22 June 1934, following the example of some Liptovský municipalities and the municipality of Okoličné. The meeting consisted of many football enthusiasts from the community and Ján Devečka who officially declared the establishment of the football club. The first elected chairman was JUDr. Sterllinger, who donated from his own private property the Pšaninách meadow (where today stands a dairy) on which to create a football field, which was the club's home until 1972. The club's first football match was a friendly game against neighbouring ŠK Smrečany, taking place on 15 July 1934, the result ended 8–0 for the home team.
