The 2023–24 Second League is the 68th season of the Second League, the second tier of the Bulgarian football league system, and the 8th season under this name and current league structure. Second Professional Football League (Bulgaria)
The Bulgarian Second Professional Football League (), also known as Second League () or Vtora liga, is the second level of the Bulgarian football league system, below First Professional Football League (Bulgaria), First League and above the Third Amateur Football League (Bulgaria), Third League. Twenty teams take part in the league, each playing twice against all the other, once home and once away. Most matches are played on Saturdays and Sundays. The league is administered by the Bulgarian Professional Football League. In 2016, the B Group's name was rebranded to Second Professional Football League. Competition format A team receives 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. FC Vitosha Bistritsa
FC Vitosha () is a Bulgarian association football club based in Bistritsa, Sofia City Province, which competes in the Southwest Third League, the third tier of Bulgarian football. It is named after the Vitosha mountain range, where Bistritsa is located. Vitosha was founded in 1958, however, the club spent the majority of its history playing in lower leagues. In 2017, Vitosha managed to promote to the First League for the first time ever. The club was relegated after the 2019–20 season and re-founded in 2021. The club became notable for having Bulgaria's prime minister, Boyko Borisov, as a registered player of the squad in the lower divisions. Strumska Slava () is a Bulgarian association football club based in Radomir, Pernik Province. The club currently plays in the Second Professional League, the second tier of Bulgarian football. FC Sportist () is a Bulgarian football club based in Svoge, which currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of Bulgarian football, following promotion from the Third League. OFK Spartak () is a Bulgarian municipal association football club from the city of Pleven founded on 10 September 1919. It currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of Bulgarian football. The team's greatest achievements are the Bulgarian Cup final in 1957 and the third place in the Bulgarian Championship during the following season. Spartak Pleven made its debut in the A Group during the 1952 A Group season. Spartak established itself as one of the most consistent teams in the Bulgarian A Group, only missing five seasons of top flight football between 1952 and 1988. Ludogorets II () or Ludogorets 2 is a Bulgarian professional football team based in Razgrad. Founded in 2015, it is the reserve team of PFC Ludogorets Razgrad, and currently plays in Second League, the second level of Bulgarian football. Obliged to play one level below their main side, Ludogorets II is ineligible for promotion to First League and also cannot compete in the Bulgarian Cup. FC Lovech (; formerly Litex Lovech) is a Bulgarian professional association football, football club based in Lovech, that competes in the Second Professional Football League (Bulgaria), Second League. The club was founded in 1921 as Hisarya Sports Club and was known as Litex Lovech from 1996 to 2024.
