2023–24 Olympique Lyonnais Season
The 2023–24 season was the 74th season in the history of Olympique Lyonnais and their 35th consecutive season in the top flight. The club participated in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France, reaching the final of the latter competition. This season was Lyon's first ever season under the ownership and presidency of American businessman John Textor, who replaced Jean-Michel Aulas to become the new president, ending Aulas' three-decade rule in the club. On 13 July, Frenchman Santiago Cucci was named to become the new interim executive president of Lyon but later resigned in November. Lyon have had the worst start to a season in the club's history in the French top division, being place in a relegatable position from the 2nd matchday until the 16th matchday. The Coupe de la Ligue (), known outside France as the French League Cup, was a knockout cup competition in French football organized by the Ligue de Football Professionnel. 2024–25 UEFA Europa League League Phase
The 2024–25 UEFA Europa League league phase began on 25 September 2024 and ended on 30 January 2025. A total of 36 teams competed in the league phase to decide the 24 places in the knockout phase of the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League. RFS made their debut appearance in the Europa League since the introduction of the group stage. A total of 23 national associations were represented in the league phase. Jean-Michel Antoine Aulas (; born 22 March 1949) is a French businessman. He is the founder of Cegid (Compagnie Européenne de Gestion par l'Informatique Décentralisée), and from 1987 to 2023, he served as the president of French football club Lyon, which he had owned from 1987 to 2022 before selling a majority stake to John Textor. As part of OL Groupe, Aulas also previously owned and was the chairman of American club OL Reign from 2020 to 2022.
