2023–24 Nashville Predators Season
The 2023–24 Nashville Predators season was the 26th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 25, 1997. The Predators made the playoffs for the ninth time in 10 years after having missed the playoffs last season. This was the team's first season without David Poile as general manager, following his retirement on June 30, 2023, although he still currently remains with the organization as a creative consultant. Poile was previously the only general manager in team history and retired as both the longest tenured and winningest general manager in team history. On April 9, 2024, the Predators clinched a playoff berth following a 4–3 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets. In the Playoffs, the Predators faced the Vancouver Canucks, losing in six games. Central Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's Central Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference in a league realignment. Its predecessor was the Norris Division and its also one of two successors to the Northwest Division. The Chicago Blackhawks have been a member of the Central Division in all of its seasons since the original 1993 realignment. The Arizona Coyotes (as the original Winnipeg Jets), Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues were also original members of the division, but were realigned to a different division for a while before returning; both the Coyotes and Stars were moved to the Pacific Division in 1998 (the Stars moved back to the Central in 2013, and the Coyotes followed in 2021), while the Blues were moved to the West Division during the temporary 2020–21 realignment. The 2023–24 Boston Bruins season was the 100th season (99th season of play) for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924. The Bruins entered the season as the defending Presidents' Trophy winners, having finished the previous season with a 65–12–5 record that set the record for the most wins and points in an NHL season. Longtime Bruins players Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retired during the off-season, with key players such as Tyler Bertuzzi, Connor Clifton and Dmitry Orlov also leaving during free agency and Taylor Hall departing via trade. The 2023–24 Seattle Kraken season was the third season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise. They played their home games at Climate Pledge Arena. During the season, the Kraken played in the 2024 Winter Classic, winning 3–0 against the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Park on January 1, 2024, achieving the first shutout in Winter Classic history. The 2023–24 Carolina Hurricanes season was the 45th season (44th season of play) for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established in June 1979, and the 26th season since the franchise relocated from the Hartford Whalers to start the 1997–98 season. Kevin Lankinen (born 28 April 1995) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played for the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators. Playing career Liiga Lankinen has played primarily for HIFK of the Liiga from 2014 to 2018.
