2023–24 Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils basketball team represented Mississippi Valley State University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Delta Devils, led by second-year head coach George Ivory, played their home games at the Harrison HPER Complex in Itta Bena, Mississippi as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 1–30, 1–17 in SWAC play to finish in twelfth place, and thus they did not qualify to play in the SWAC Tournament. Previous season The Delta Devils finished the 2022–23 season 5–27, 4–14 in SWAC play to finish in last place. They failed to qualify for the SWAC tournament, as only the top eight teams make it. George Ivory (basketball)
George Ivory (born August 7, 1965) is the head men's basketball coach for Mississippi Valley State University. He was the head men's basketball coach at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff from 2008 to 2021. Previously, Ivory was an assistant at Mississippi Valley State, his alma mater, from 1998–2002, 2007–2008, and 2021–2022. Playing career Ivory grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, where he attended Murrah High School, one of the top basketball schools in the country. He played at Murrah for three years, winning numerous awards prior to graduating in 1983. After Ivory finished at Murrah High School, he went on to attend college at Mississippi Valley State University. Ivory started all four years at Mississippi Valley State University, winning co- Southwestern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year honours in 1987. Rosedale, Mississippi
Rosedale is a city and one of two county seats of Bolivar County, Mississippi, United States, the other seat being Cleveland. The Rosedale population was 1,873 at the 2010 census, down from 2,414 in 2000. Holmes Community College is a public community college with its main campus in Goodman, Mississippi. It also has campuses in Grenada and Ridgeland, and satellite campuses in Attala, Webster, and Yazoo counties.
