2023–24 Liga 3 (Portugal)
The 2023–24 Liga 3 was the third season of Portuguese football's third-tier league, following the reorganization which saw the Campeonato de Portugal moving one level down in the Portuguese football league system. First season with a total of 20 teams compete in this division, after the reduction in the previous edition. Format This competition consists of a first stage with all the teams then proceed to a promotion or relegation series depending on their performance. Teams A total of 20 teams contested the league, including 3 teams relegated from the 2022–23 Liga Portugal 2, 13 teams that have been in 2022–23 Liga 3 and 4 teams promoted from the 2022–23 Campeonato de Portugal. B-SAD sports society's licence was relocated to Cova da Piedade, as a result of a fusion. Liga 3 (Portugal)
The Liga 3 is the third-level football league in the Portuguese football league system, starting in 2021–22. It is a semiprofessional national league organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The creation of this league is part of a restructuring of the Portuguese third tier, with Campeonato de Portugal, which saw the number of teams reduced, being relegated to fourth tier and the top teams competing there advancing to this new competition. In its first season, a total of 24 teams competed in the Liga 3, 2 of which were relegated from 2020–21 Liga Portugal 2 and 22 others which were promoted from 2020–21 Campeonato de Portugal. This number is set to be reduced to 20 teams from the 2023–24 season. Vilaverdense F.C. (known for 4 years as Länk FC Vilaverdense) is a Portuguese football club based in Vila Verde in the district of Braga. They currently play in the Liga 3, the third tier of Portuguese football. The club is affiliated to Associação de Futebol de Braga and has competed in the AF Braga Taça. The club has also entered the national cup competition known as Taça de Portugal on occasion. Associação Desportiva de Fafe (abbreviated as AD Fafe) is a Portuguese professional football club based in Fafe, in the district of Braga. Background AD Fafe currently plays in the Campeonato Nacional de Seniores – Série A which is the third tier of Portuguese football. Sporting Clube de Portugal B is the reserve team of Portuguese football club Sporting CP, a team based in Lisbon. Reserve teams in Portugal play in the same league system as the senior team, rather than in a reserve team league.
