2023–24 Lebanese Premier League
The 2023–24 Lebanese Premier League is the 62nd season of the Lebanese Premier League, the top Lebanese professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1934. The league started on 4 August 2023. It is the fourth season to feature a "split" format, following its introduction in the 2020–21 season, in which the season is divided into two phases. Summary Regulations Each club has to involve two players under the age of 21 for at least 2,000 combined minutes, and three players for 3,000 combined minutes. Also, each club is allowed a maximum of eight players over the age of 30, with only five being able to be fielded in a game. In case a club is not able to meet the required number of minutes at the end of the season, they would have three points deducted from their total in the league. Lebanese Premier League
The Lebanese First Division ( ar, الدوري اللبناني الدرجة الأولى), commonly known as the Lebanese Premier League (), is the top division of the Lebanese football league system. There are 12 teams competing in the league, which operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Lebanese Second Division. The league's first season began in May 1934, with Nahda winning the first title. The most successful club in the league is Ansar, with 14 league titles; they set a Guinness World Record by winning 11 consecutive league titles between 1988 and 1999. Seasons run from September to June with each team playing 21 games per season. Most games are played on weekend afternoons. The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Nabatieh
Nabatieh ( ar, النبطية, links=no, ', ), or Nabatîyé (), is the city of the Nabatieh Governorate, in southern Lebanon. The population is not accurately known as no census has been taken in Lebanon since the 1930s; estimates range from 15,000 to 120,000. Al Ahed Stadium ( ar, ملعب نادي العهد الرياضي) is a football field located in the Al-Ouzai area of Bourj el-Barajneh, in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon. The stadium can accommodate about 2,000 spectators, and is of Al Ahed FC's property, who uses it as a training ground. Sagesse Sports Club (), known as Hekmeh ( ar, الحكمة ) in Arabic, is a football club based in Achrafieh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . The club was founded in 1943 as Cercle de la Sagesse. Bourj Football Club ( ar, نادي البرج الرياضي, lit=Tower Sporting Club) is a football club based in Bourj el-Barajneh, Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . Founded in 1967, the club has won one Lebanese FA Cup in 1993 and one Lebanese Challenge Cup in 2019.
