2023–24 Houston Rockets Season
The 2023–24 Houston Rockets season was the 57th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and 53rd season in the city of Houston. On April 10, 2023, the Houston Rockets fired head coach Stephen Silas after three rebuilding seasons with the team. Two weeks later, the Rockets hired Ime Udoka as their new head coach, looking to contend for the playoffs. After starting out 0–3 in October, the Rockets had a six-game winning streak to start out November. The Rockets entered the month of March with a 27–34 record and stood at 11th place in the Western Conference. Despite losing breakout player Alperen Şengün to injury, the Rockets won 13 of their next 14 games, including an 11-game winning streak buoyed by career-best performances from star Jalen Green alongside one-time all-star Fred VanVleet and rookie Amen Thompson, which allowed them to rise to contention for the play-in tournament. Ime Udoka
Ime Sunday Udoka ( ; born August 9, 1977) is a Nigerian-American professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born in the United States, he represented the Nigeria national team during his playing career. After retiring as a player, Udoka served as an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers, and Brooklyn Nets before becoming the head coach of the Boston Celtics, whom he led to the 2022 NBA Finals. After Udoka was suspended for the entire 2022–23 season for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a Celtics female employee, he was hired by the Rockets in April 2023. Tiago Splitter
Tiago Splitter Beims (born January 1, 1985) is a Brazilian professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). A three-time All-EuroLeague Team selection prior to his NBA career, he became the first Brazilian-born player to win an NBA championship, in 2014, as a member of the San Antonio Spurs. Early life Splitter was born in Blumenau, Santa Catarina, Brazil. Professional career Brazil and Spain (1999–2010) Splitter began his professional career in 1999. In 2000, he began to play in Spain's top-level league, the Liga ACB. In 2004, Splitter became a naturalised citizen of Spain. Splitter was named the MVP of the Spanish Supercup tournament in both 2006 and 2007. Mike Moser
Michael Alexander Moser (pronounced MOH-zer; born November 8, 1990) is an American retired professional basketball player who is currently an assistant coach for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the University of Oregon as a senior. Moser was an All-American player at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) before transferring to Oregon in 2013. High school and college career Moser attended Grant High School in Portland, Oregon, where he led the school to a state title in 2008. He originally committed to Arizona, but backed out of his commitment once coach Lute Olson resigned, opting for UCLA. After getting minimal playing time and struggling with the Bruins' style, Moser decided to transfer.
