2023–24 Holy Cross Crusaders Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Holy Cross Crusaders men's basketball team represented the College of the Holy Cross during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Crusaders, led by first-year head coach Dave Paulsen, played their home games at the Hart Center located in Worcester, Massachusetts as members of the Patriot League. Previous season The Crusaders finished the 2022–23 season 10–22, 7–11 in Patriot League play to finish in a four-way tie for sixth place. As the No. 9 seed in the Patriot League tournament, they lost to Loyola (MD) in the first round. On March 10, 2023, the school fired head coach Brett Nelson. On March 28, the school named Fordham assistant coach Dave Paulsen the team's new head coach. Dave Paulsen
Dave Paulsen (born September 14, 1964) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach at Holy Cross. Previously, he was the head men's basketball coach at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Before arriving at George Mason, he was previously the head coach at Bucknell University for seven seasons. Prior to Bucknell, he spent eight years as the head coach at his alma mater, Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and also coached at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, and Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. Coaching career At Williams College, Paulsen won the NCAA Division III title in 2003, and finished as national runner up in 2004. Paulsen was twice named Division III Coach of the Year during his time at Williams. On May 20, 2008, Paulsen was hired as head coach at Bucknell. The Governor's Academy (informally known as Governor's or Govs) is a co-educational, college-preparatory day and boarding school in Byfield, Massachusetts.
