2023–24 Goa Professional League
The 2023–24 Goa Professional League, also known as the CAM Goa Professional League for sponsorship reasons, was the 26th season of the Goa Professional League, the top football league in the Indian state of Goa since its establishment in 1996. Dempo SC were the defending champions, having won back-to-back titles. Changes from last season * This season, instead of fielding two U-20 players, GPL clubs will now feature two U-21 players who must collectively play a full 90 minutes. * Players accumulating five yellow cards will serve a one-match suspension, with subsequent yellow card counts leading to progressively reduced suspensions. * GPL matches will be spread across Goa. Alternative venues are being explored, with clubs encouraged to propose potential grounds for inspection and approval. Goa Football League
The Goa Football League is a ladder-based football competition in the Indian state of Goa, organised by the Goa Football Association as part of the state leagues. It was formed in 1951 as the Goa Primeira Divisão or Goa First Division, and the current top division consists of the Goa Professional League (abbreviated as GPL, also known as the CAM Goa Pro League for sponsorship reasons) which is the premier state-level football league in Goa. Calangute is a town in the North Goa district of the Indian state of Goa. It is famous for its beach, the largest in North Goa and a popular tourist destination. Tilak Maidan is a multi-purpose stadium located in Vasco da Gama, Goa, India. It is used mostly for football matches and regularly hosts I-League and Goa Professional League matches. Panjim Footballers Club (simply known as Panjim Footballers) is an Indian professional football club based in Panjim, Goa, that competes in the Goa Professional League. Its women's team previously participated in the Indian Women's League, and currently participates in GFA Vedanta Women's League. History Established in 1978 as a small city club, Panjim Footballers started playing in inter-village tournaments and GFA age-group tournaments and won many small tournaments.
