2023–24 EHF European Cup
The 2023–24 EHF European Cup was the 27th season of Europe's tertiary club handball tournament organised by European Handball Federation (EHF), and the 4th season since it was renamed from the Challenge Cup to the EHF European Cup. RK Vojvodina were the defending champions, but they were not defending their title because they played in this season's EHF European League group stage. Valur became the first Icelandic team to club handball competition, beating Olympiacos S.F.P. on penalties in the final. Format The tournament was played in a straight knockout format. The ties were held in a home and away format. Overall, there were seven rounds to navigate in order to win the trophy (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Last 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Final). The EHF European Cup is an annual men's handball club competition organised by the European Handball Federation (EHF). It is the third-tier competition of European club handball, after the EHF Champions League and the EHF European League. Founded in 1993 as the EHF City Cup, the competition was renamed the EHF Challenge Cup in 2000 before adopting its current name in 2020. History Before 2000, it was called EHF City Cup.
