2023–24 Chelsea F.C. Season
The 2023–24 season was Chelsea Football Club's 118th year in existence and 35th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. Prior to this season, former Chelsea captain César Azpilicueta left the club at the end of his contract after eleven consecutive seasons, signing for Atlético Madrid in his native Spain. Chelsea academy graduate Reece James replaced him as club captain before the new season opened in July. Managed by Mauricio Pochettino in his first (and only) season at the club, Chelsea continued to perform below par during the first half of the campaign, vanishing any title hopes. Nevertheless, the club reached the final of the EFL Cup, finishing as runners-up to Liverpool, as well as the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Chelsea ultimately made a marked improvement during the second half of the season, with only one loss in their final fifteen league matches played from February to May. Subsequently, this led the club to finish in 6th place, securing an imm ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

The dash is a punctuation mark consisting of a long horizontal line. It is similar in appearance to the hyphen but is longer and sometimes higher from the baseline. The most common versions are the endash , generally longer than the hyphen but shorter than the minus sign; the emdash , longer than either the en dash or the minus sign; and the horizontalbar , whose length varies across typefaces but tends to be between those of the en and em dashes. Typical uses of dashes are to mark a break in a sentence, to set off an explanatory remark (similar to parenthesis), or to show spans of time or ranges of values. The em dash is sometimes used as a leading character to identify the source of a quoted text. History In the early 17th century, in Okes-printed plays of William Shakespeare, dashes are attested that indicate a thinking pause, interruption, mid-speech realization, or change of subject. The dashes are variously longer (as in ''King Lear'' reprinted 1619) or comp ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

FIFA Eligibility Rules
In association football, the FIFA eligibility rules are the eligibility criteria established by FIFA (International Association Football Federation), the sport's governing body, to facilitate the selection of representative teams for international competitions. Specifically, FIFA maintains and implements rules determining a player's eligibility to represent a particular national team in officially sanctioned international competitions and friendly matches. Traditionally, athlete eligibility has been tied to legal nationality, allowing players with multiple nationalities to represent more than one country, especially after naturalisation. However, national teams are organised by national football associations, not all of which are affiliated with FIFA. Some countries, like the United Kingdom, are represented by constituent associations (England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland), while other associations represent regions not typically recognized as independent countries, suc ...
