2023–24 Brisbane Roar FC Season
The 2023–24 season was the club's 29th national season in the history of Brisbane Roar FC, Brisbane Roar Football Club. The club participated in the A-League Men for the 18th time, and participated in the Australia Cup for the eighth time. On 2 May 2023, Ross Aloisi was appointed as the club's new head coach. On 24 December 2023, Aloisi left the club to take up a job as an assistant coach to Kevin Muscat at Shanghai Port F.C., Shanghai Port and the club promoted assistant Luciano Trani to the head coach role in an interim position until the end of the season. After one match in charge, in which they lost 1–8 to Melbourne City FC, Melbourne City, the club appointed Ben Cahn as head coach to replace Trani who returned to his assistant coach role. A month later, Cahn took an indefinate medical leave and his assistant coach, Ruben Zadkovich, was promoted as head coach in an interim role. Brisbane Roar Football Club is a professional soccer club based in Brisbane, Queensland. competing in Australia's premier men's competition, A-League Men, which is the top tier Australia's football pyramid. When Queensland Lions F.C. were the only Queensland bidder for the new A League competition following the Crawford Report and the new FFA under Frank Lowy, Lions withdrew their men's team from the State Competition and entered it in to the A League. Corey Brown (soccer)
Corey Brown (born 7 January 1994) is an Australian soccer player who plays as a left back for Brisbane City. He previously played in the A-League for Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory. He is the son of Rod Brown, who scored for Brisbane Strikers in the 1997 NSL Grand Final and held the record for most NSL goals scored (137 goals) playing throughout the 1980s and 1990s with Marconi, APIA-Leichhardt, Newcastle Breakers and Brisbane Strikers. Scott Neville (born 11 January 1989) is a retired professional soccer player who played as a defender. Born in England, he represented Australia at youth level. Kevin Vincent Muscat (born 7 August 1973) is an Australian former association football player and he is the currently head coach of Chinese Super League club Shanghai Port.
