2023–24 Alabama State Hornets Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Alabama State Hornets basketball team represented Alabama State University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hornets, led by second-year head coach Tony Madlock, played their home games at the Dunn–Oliver Acadome in Montgomery, Alabama as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). They finished the season 13–19, 8–10 in SWAC play, to finish in a tie for eighth place. As the No. 8 seed in the SWAC tournament, they lost to 2023–24 Grambling State Tigers men's basketball team, Grambling State in the quarterfinals. Previous season The 2022–23 Alabama State Hornets basketball team, Hornets finished the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, 2022–23 season 8–23, 6–12 in SWAC play, to finish in a tie for ninth place. Tony Madlock
Tony Madlock (born February 17, 1970) is an American basketball coach (basketball), coach who is the current head coach of the Alabama State Hornets basketball, Alabama State Hornets men's basketball team. He previously served in the same position for South Carolina State Bulldogs basketball, South Carolina State. Madlock was named as a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Award, given to college basketball’s top first-year coach after leading South Carolina State to its highest win total since 2015–16. The Tarleton State Texans men's basketball team, also known as the Tarleton Texans, represents Tarleton State University, located in Stephenville, Texas, in NCAA Division I as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Cedar Hill is a city in Dallas and Ellis counties in the U.S. state of Texas. Hammond High School (Indiana)
Hammond High School was a public secondary school located in the Northwestern Indiana city of Hammond. Part of the School City of Hammond district, it opened in 1884 and graduated its final class in the spring of 2021. History Hammond High School was established in 1884. The building that would be the final Hammond High campus opened in 1915 as the Hammond Industrial High School. The school caught fire on December 13, 1967. In the aftermath of the fire, students shared the campus of Hammond Tech, attending classes in the afternoon while Hammond Tech students went to class in the morning. Reconstruction after the fire was not completed until 1973. The Memphis Tigers men's basketball team represents the University of Memphis in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. The Tigers have competed in the American Athletic Conference since 2013. As of 2020, the Tigers had the 26th highest winning percentage in National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA history.
