Adana Demirspor
Adana Demirspor Kulübü is a multi-sports club based in Adana, Turkey. The football department is the most popular department which relegated to TFF 1. Lig on 16 March 2025 after 4 seasons at the Super Lig. Founded by railway workers of Turkish State Railways (TCDD) in 1940, The football team's success at the Adana League and the water polo team's unbeaten National League titles in the club's first three decades built a large worker fan base in the city. Some supporters who are unhappy with the management of the club, founded Adanaspor in 1954 and competition among the two clubs for the citywide support and domination since then, created one of the fiercest rivalries of Turkish football which continues to this day as the Adana derby. Adana Demirspor was the first club based outside of Istanbul, Ankara, or İzmir to join the National Football League in the 1960–61 season, before this the league games were only hosted in the three cities. The 2024–25 season is the 84th season in the history of Adana Demirspor, and the club's fourth consecutive season in Süper Lig. Season summary Pre-season Adana Demirspor, which concluded the 2023-24 season in 12th position in the Super League, terminated the contracts of numerous players and underwent notable changes to its squad due to the economic crisis that began at the conclusion of that season. The team faced significant challenges before the new season, with financial penalties from FIFA and UEFA due to unpaid debts emerging as a major obstacle. Murat Sancak, who had stepped down from the presidency midway through the previous season, resumed his role prior to the start of the pre-season. İzzet Çelik
İzzet Çelik (born 20 June 2004) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Adana Demirspor. Career A youth product of Adana Gençlerbirliği and Adana Demirspor, Çelik signed his first professional contract with Adana Demirspor on 10 September 2020. He began his senior career with the team in 2020 at the age of 16. He made his professional debut with Adana Demirspor in a 4–0 Süper Lig win over Gaziantep on 25 September 2021. On 22 January 2022, he moved to Diyarbakırspor for the second half of the 2021–22 season. He moved to Bayrampaşa on loan for the 2022–23 season. International career Çelik was called up to a training camp for the Turkey U17s on 18 June 2021. Jovan Manev
Jovan Manev (; born 25 January 2001) is a Macedonian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for HNK Rijeka, and North Macedonia national team. Career Manev is a youth product of the academies of Osogovo and Bregalnica Štip, and began his career in North Macedonia with Bregalnica Štip in the 2021–22 season, making 30 appearances and scoring 2 goals in his debut season. On 3 July 2022, he signed with the Turkish club Adana Demirspor on loan for the 2022–23 season with an option to buy, which was taken. In September 2023, Manev was loaned to NK Osijek in Croatia, featuring in 7 league games for the club before getting injured. Manev's loan was brought to an end in December of the same year after the Turkish club decided to use the option to return him.
