2023 Icelandic Cup
The 2023 Icelandic Cup, also known as Mjólkurbikarinn for sponsorship reasons, was the 64th edition of the Icelandic national football cup. The winners qualified for the 2024–25 Conference League first qualifying round. The cup was played from 22 March, when the first round kicked off, to 16 September, when the final was held. Víkingur Reykjavík won the cup on 16 September 2023 with a 3–1 win over KA, their fourth consecutive Icelandic Cup win. First round 50 clubs competed in the first round. The first round got underway on 22 March and the last games were played on 2 April. Knattspyrnufélagið Víkingur (, ) , commonly referred to as Víkingur Reykjavík (to distinguish them from Víkingur Ólafsvík) and internationally known as Vikingur F.C., is a professional Icelandic sports club based in the Fossvogur neighbourhood of Reykjavík. It is one of the oldest sports clubs in Iceland, founded on 21 April 1908. Originally founded as a football club, it is now a multi-sport club that also operates divisions in handball, tennis, table tennis, karate and skiing. All sports include both male and female teams. Its men's football team currently plays in the top-tier Besta deildin and has won seven national championship titles and five Cup titles. Hafnir () is a town in southwestern Iceland. It is situated in the Reykjanes peninsula and has 109 inhabitants (as of 2011). The current population as of February 2024 is estimated to be 200-700. Léttir
Léttir () is an Icelandic football club located in Reykjavík. They currently play in the 4. deild karla (fifth tier) league, and participate in the Icelandic Cup. Originally a club based in Laugardalur in Reykjavík before being folded in the beginning of the 21. century. Léttir was reestablished in 2009 as a “reserve” club for Íþróttafélag Reykjavíkur. Léttir has since played in the lowest tier of the Icelandic football league system.
