2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships – Men's K1
The men's kayak event at the 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships took place on 23 September 2023 at the Lee Valley White Water Centre in London, with the qualification heats on 21 September 2023. Competition format The event uses a three-round format with qualification heats, semifinal and final. Paddlers complete up to two runs in the heats, with the top ranked athletes starting last. In the first heat, the 30 fastest paddlers qualify automatically for the semifinal, whilst the rest compete in the second heat for additional 10 qualification spots. The final rank of non-qualifying athletes is determined by their second run score. Paddlers start in the reverse order of their heats position in the semifinal and complete a single run, with the top 10 advancing to the final. The start list for the final is once again in reverse order of the semifinal results. The athlete with the best time in the single-run final is awarded gold. 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
The 2023 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships took place from 19 to 24 September 2023 in London, United Kingdom under the auspices of International Canoe Federation (ICF). It was the 43rd edition and the events were held at the Lee Valley White Water Centre, the site of the 2012 Summer Olympics. London hosted the championships for the second time after previously hosting in 2015. The championships were also the only global qualification event for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. 302 athletes from 58 countries competed for 15 quota spots in K1 events and 12 spots in C1 events. Vít Přindiš (born 14 April 1989) is a Czech slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2005. He won seven medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with three golds (K1: 2022, K1 team: 2017, 2023), three silvers (K1: 2017, K1 team: 2014, 2019) and a bronze (K1 team: 2018). Lucien Delfour
Lucien Delfour (born 22 December 1988) is a French-Australian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2006. He represented France in the 2006 season. Since 2010 he has represented Australia. Jakub Grigar (born 27 April 1997) is a Slovak slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2012. He specializes in the K1 discipline and occasionally competes in kayak cross. Grigar competed at two Olympic Games. Noel Hendrick (born 24 December 1997) is an Irish canoeist. He qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
