2023 European Tour
The 2023 European Tour, titled as the 2023 DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 52nd season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972. It was the second season of the tour under a title sponsorship agreement with DP World, that was announced in November 2021. Changes for 2023 Player Earnings Assurance Programme In November 2022, alongside the schedule release, the tour announced that they would introduce a "Player Earnings Assurance Programme", which would guarantee minimum earnings of US$150,000 for all exempt players from categories 1–17 if they competed in at least 15 tournaments. Rankings name change In November 2022, the tour announced that the DP World Tour Rankings would be reverted back to the Race to Dubai, the name which had been in place between 2009 and 2021. Adrian Meronk
Adrian Meronk (born 31 May 1993) is a Polish professional golfer who plays as a member of Cleeks GC as part of the LIV Golf League. He won the 2022 Horizon Irish Open, becoming the first Polish golfer to win on the European Tour. Early life Meronk was born in Hamburg, Germany, and at the age of two his family returned to Poland. They settled in Pniewy, near Poznań, and lived there for ten years. He attended high school in Wrocław, prior to moving to the United States to study. Amateur career Meronk attended East Tennessee State University from 2012 to 2016. Meronk represented Poland in the Eisenhower Trophy in 2012, 2014, 2016. In 2012 he was tied for 7th place as an individual. In 2016 Poland finished 8th with Meronk tied for 3rd place as an individual. The PGA Tour of Australasia, currently titled as the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tour for men, owned and operated by the PGA of Australia. Official events on the tour count for World Golf Ranking points. History The tour is recognised as being founded in 1973 when the PGA of Australia instituted an Order of Merit. Despite always including at least one tournament in New Zealand, the tour was known as the PGA Tour of Australia until it adopted its current name in 1991 following the inclusion of three events in Asia. Korean Tour
The Korean Tour is a men's professional golf tour run by the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) of South Korea. In 2011, it had total prize money of about United States dollar, US$14 million. Professional golf in Korea dates back to the mid 20th century. The Korean Professional Golf Championship and the Korea Open (golf), Korean Open were launched in 1958 and the KPGA was founded in 1963. Japan Golf Tour
The Japan Golf Tour () is a prominent professional golf tour. It was founded in 1973 and as of 2006, it offered the third-highest annual prize fund out of the regular (that is not for seniors) men's professional tours after the PGA Tour and the European Tour. However, since the early 1990s, the growth in prize money has not kept pace with that on the two larger tours. Official events on the Japan Golf Tour count for Official World Golf Ranking points and success on the tour can also qualify members to play in the majors. Most of the leading players on the tour are Japanese, but players from many other countries also participate. Sunshine Tour
The Sunshine Tour is a men's professional golf tour based in Southern and East Africa. For much of its early history it was known either as the Southern Africa Tour or Sunshine Circuit; through sponsorship deals, it has also been known as the FNB Tour and the Vodacom Tour. For the 2000–01 season the tour rebranded itself as the ''Sunshine Tour'' in an attempt to broaden its appeal. A large majority of the tour events are still staged in South Africa. Official World Golf Ranking
The Official World Golf Ranking is a system for rating the performance level of professional golfers. It was started in 1986. The rankings are based on a player's position in individual tournaments (i.e. not pairs or team events) over a "rolling" two-year period. New rankings are calculated each week. During 2018, nearly 400 tournaments on 20 tours were covered by the ranking system. All players competing in these tournaments are included in the rankings. In 2025, 24 tours factored into the world rankings. As well as being of general interest, the rankings have an additional importance, in that they are used as one of the qualifying criteria for entry into a number of leading tournaments. The European Tour, currently titled as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, and legally the PGA European Tour or the European Tour Group, is the leading men's professional golf tour in Europe. The organisation also operates the European Senior Tour (for players aged 50 or older) and the developmental Challenge Tour; the second tier of men's professional golf in Europe. The tour's headquarters are at Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, England. 2023 Ryder Cup
The 44th Ryder Cup was a series of golf matches between teams representing the DP World Tour (Europe) and the PGA of America (United States) for the Ryder Cup, that was held in Italy from 29 September to 1 October 2023 at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio, northeast of Rome. The biennial event was originally scheduled for 2022, before the 43rd matches were postponed into 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team captains were Luke Donald for Europe and Zach Johnson for the United States; Donald replaced Henrik Stenson, who was removed from the role by the European Tour after joining LIV Golf. The Seve Trophy was a biennial golf tournament between teams of professional male golfers; one team representing Great Britain and Ireland, the other team representing Continental Europe. The tournament was played in years when there is no Ryder Cup. The competition was held eight times from 2000 to 2013. The Trophy was named after five times major winner Seve Ballesteros, the most successful golfer ever from Continental Europe who was one of the key instigators of the tournament. The Team Cup (previously known as the Hero Cup for sponsorship reasons) is a golf tournament between teams of professional male golfers; one team representing Great Britain and Ireland, the other team representing Continental Europe. The tournament was first played in 2023, but the competition is reminiscent of the Seve Trophy which was held eight times between 2000 and 2013. For the tournament's first iteration, a sponsorship deal was reached with the Indian two-wheeler manufacturers Hero MotoCorp.
