2023 Brazil–China Summit
The 2023 Brazil–China summit was a four-day state visit by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the President of Brazil, to China from 11 to 14 April 2023. It was Lula's first visit to China since his third taking office in January 2023. He was accompanied by a delegation of more than 240 CEOs, politicians and government officials and met with the Brazilian business community in China. He also met with Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and President of the People's Republic of China, President of China, to discuss various issues, especially the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War, war in Ukraine and Brazil–China's potential roles as a mediators between Russia and the West. Great Hall Of The People
The Great Hall of the People is a state building situated to the west of Tiananmen Square in Beijing. It is used for legislative and ceremonial activities by the government of the People's Republic of China. BRICS New Development Bank
The New Development Bank (NDB), formerly referred to as the BRICS Development Bank, is a multilateral development bank established by the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). According to the agreement, "the bank shall support public or private projects through loans, guarantees, equity participation and other financial instruments" and "shall cooperate with international organizations and other financial entities, and provide technical assistance for projects to be supported by the bank." The initial authorized capital of the bank was 100 billion divided into one million shares having a par value of 100,000 each. The initial subscribed capital of the bank was 50 billion divided into 10 billion in paid-in shares and 40 billion in callable shares.
