2023 Arctic Race Of Norway
The 2023 Arctic Race of Norway was a road cycling stage race that took place between 17 and 20 August 2023. It was the tenth edition of the Arctic Race of Norway, which was rated as a 2.Pro event on the 2023 UCI ProSeries calendar. 2023 UCI ProSeries
The 2023 UCI ProSeries was the fourth season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road bicycle racing, road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The calendar consisted of 57 events, of which 33 were one-day races (1.Pro), and 24 were stage races (2.Pro). Kautokeino (village)
, , or is the administrative centre of Kautokeino Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located along the river Kautokeinoelva, about south of the village of Masi and about north of the Finland–Norway border. The village has a population (2023) of 1,459 and a population density of . The village is the site of Kautokeino Church. The European route E45 runs through the village on its way from the town of Alta as it heads south. The small Kautokeino Airport lies just to the north of the village. Noah Hobbs (born Alfred Bruce Noah Hobbs, 23 July 2004) is an English road racing and track cyclist who currently rides for . His career highlights include leading the 2023 Arctic Race of Norway after Stage 2 and winning a gold medal in the under-23 Team Pursuit at the 2023 UEC European Track Championships. Hobbs has described himself as a sprinter, but one who can "can get over some climbs that some of the other pure sprinters might struggle on." He also trains with the Great Britain track squad at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester and was selected to ride for the Great Britain squad at the 2023 Tour of Britain. North Cape (Norway)
The North Cape (; ) is a cape (geography), cape on the northern coast of the island of Magerøya in Northern Norway. The cape is in Nordkapp Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The European route E69 motorway (highway) has its northern terminus at the North Cape, which makes it the northernmost point in Europe that can be accessed by car and makes the E69 the northernmost public road in Europe. The plateau is a popular tourist attraction. The cape includes a with a large flat plateau on top, where visitors, weather permitting, can watch the midnight sun and views of the Barents Sea to the north. Kvalsund (village)
or is a village in Hammerfest Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. It was formerly the administrative centre of the old Kvalsund Municipality which existed until 2020 when it merged with Hammerfest Municipality. The village is located on the mainland, along the Kvalsundet strait, at the mouth of the river Kvalsundelva. Havøysund
or is the administrative centre of the Måsøy Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located on the small island of Havøya, but is connected to the mainland by the Havøysund Bridge. The village has a population (2023) of 915 which gives the village a population density of . Havøysund is a fishing village offering a wide range of common services. There are fish processing factories, a boat yard, a petrol station, doctors, Havøysund Church, various shops, a sports hall, and museums.
