2022–23 West Indies Championship
The 2022–23 West Indies Championship was the 55th edition of the Regional Four Day Competition, the domestic first-class cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies (a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly Commonwealth Caribbean, English-speaking Caribbean countries and dependencies that once formed the British West Ind ... (CWI). It began from 1 February and finished on 1 April 2023. Six teams contested the tournament – Barbados Pride, Guyana Harpy Eagles, Jamaica Scorpions, the Leeward Islands Hurricanes, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, and the Windward Islands Volcanoes. Cricket West Indies
Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies (a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly Commonwealth Caribbean, English-speaking Caribbean countries and dependencies that once formed the British West Indies). It was originally formed in the early 1920s as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, but changed its name to West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996. In November 2015, the Board resolved to rename itself as Cricket West Indies as part of a restructuring exercise that would also see the creation of a separate commercial body. This rebranding formally occurred in May 2017. CWI has been a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1926. It operates the West Indies cricket team and West Indies A cricket team, organising Test tours and one-day internationals with other teams. Amir Jangoo
Amir Anthony Jangoo (born 14 July 1997) is a Trinidadian cricketer. He made his List A debut for the West Indies Under-19s in the 2014–15 Regional Super50 on 16 January 2015. He made his first-class debut for Trinidad and Tobago in the 2016–17 Regional Four Day Competition on 7 April 2017. In July 2020, he was named in the Trinbago Knight Riders squad for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He made his Twenty20 debut on 2 September 2020, for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2020 CPL. He made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in 2024 and scored a century, which is the fastest ODI debut century. Akeem Jordan (cricketer)
Akeem Jordan (born 18 October 1994) is a West Indian cricketer. He made his List A debut for Combined Campuses and Colleges in the 2018–19 Regional Super50 tournament on 4 October 2018. In the semi-final of the tournament, he took a five-wicket haul against Trinidad and Tobago to help Combined Campuses and Colleges progress to the final. He made his Twenty20 debut on 15 September 2019, for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, in the 2019 Caribbean Premier League. The following month, he was named in the Combined Campuses' squad for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament. He was the leading wicket-taker for Combined Campuses and Colleges in the tournament, with 16 dismissals in eight matches. Veerasammy Permaul
Veerasammy Permaul (born 11 August 1989) is a Guyanese professional cricketer. He's featured as a left arm orthodox spinner for both Guyana and the West Indies cricket team. Permaul is also the leading wicket-taker in West Indian First-Class cricketing tournaments. Career From Berbice, Permaul has played his club cricket with Community Centre Cricket Club since 2002. He made his first-class cricket debut for Guyana in the Regional Four Day Competition in 2006/07. In 2012 he captained the West Indies A team in a series at home against India A. After being released at the end of the 2016 Caribbean Premier League season, he was reselected by the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the 2017 edition; he was picked in the 9th round of the draft.
