2022–23 Super League Greece
The 2022–23 Super League Greece, known as Stoiximan Super League for sponsorship reasons, was the 87th season of the Super League Greece, the top Greek professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1959. Olympiacos were the defending champions. As the 2022 FIFA World Cup was started on 21 November, the last round before stoppage was held on 13 November. The league was resumed games on 21 December. Teams Fourteen teams competed in the league – the top twelve teams from the previous season, the play-off winner and one team promoted from Super League 2. Orbelín Pineda Alvarado (born 24 March 1996) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Greek Super League club AEK Athens and the Mexico national team. Club career Querétaro Pineda was first called up to the Querétaro senior team on 21 January 2014, for a Copa MX match against Ascenso MX side Celaya and made his debut as a second-half substitute in a 1–0 loss. The Super League Greece 1 (), or Stoiximan Super League for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Greece and the highest level of the Greek football league system. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek league system. The members of the cooperative are the Football Limited Companies (P.A.E.) that have the right to participate in the Super League 1 championship. The president of Super League 1 is Evangelos Marinakis, Vangelis Marinakis, who has been re-elected for the third time. The Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium () or Charilaou Ground (Γήπεδο Χαριλάου) is a Soccer-specific stadium, football stadium in Thessaloniki, Greece. It was built in 1951 as the home stadium of Aris F.C. (Thessaloniki), one of the most popular football clubs in Greece. Nea Filadelfeia (, meaning ''New Philadelphia'') is a suburban town in the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it has been part of Nea Filadelfeia-Nea Chalkidona municipality of Central Athens regional unit, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The 2022–23 Super League 2, known as Super League 2 betsson for sponsorship reasons, is the fourth season of the Super League 2, the second-tier Greek professional league for association football clubs, since the restructuring of the Greek football league system. The season is set to start on 4 November 2022 and will finish on 20 June 2023. The league will be conducted of 30 teams and two groups, this is due to the restructure and abolishment of the Football League. The B Teams of Olympiacos, PAOK, Panathinaikos and AEK Athens will also compete in the league for a second consecutive year. B Teams, however, are ineligible for promotion or relegation. The 2018–19 Super League Greece, or ''Super League Souroti'' for sponsorship reasons, was the 83rd season of the highest tier in league of Greek football and the 13th under its current name. The season started on 25 August 2018 and concluded on 22 May 2019 with the relegation play-offs. AEK Athens were the defending champions. OFI and Aris joined as the promoted clubs from the 2017–18 Football League, replacing Platanias and Kerkyra who were relegated to the 2018–19 Football League. PAOK won their third championship and their first in 34 years, by beating Levadiakos on the penultimate round of the league.
