2022–23 South Carolina State Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2022–23 South Carolina State Bulldogs basketball team represented South Carolina State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by first-year head coach Erik Martin, played their home games at SHM Memorial Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Previous season The Bulldogs finished the 2021–22 season 15–16, 7–7 in MEAC play to finish in fifth place. As the No. 5 seed, they were defeated by No. 4 seed Morgan State in the quarterfinals of the MEAC tournament. Erik Martin (basketball)
Erik Martin (born May 26, 1971) is an American basketball coach and former professional player, currently serving as head coach for South Carolina State Bulldogs basketball, South Carolina State. A native of California, Martin played one season of college basketball at TCU Horned Frogs men's basketball, TCU before transferring to Santa Ana College, a junior college in California where he was a first-team All-State selection. In 1991 he joined the Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball, University of Cincinnati, and with the Bearcats he reached the Final Four during the 1992 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 1992 NCAA tournament. Gentry Complex
Gentry Complex is a multi-purpose facility on the main campus of Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville, Tennessee. Opened in 1980 and named for Howard C. Gentry Sr., a long-time professor, coach and athletic director at TSU, the building houses the university's Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and also contains an arena, dance studio, indoor track, Olympic swimming pool, racquetball courts, and the training and weight room.
